ABSTRACT: This study investigates the impact of career counseling on vocational decision-making, highlighting its importance in guiding students toward fulfilling career paths. The objectives were to (1) assess the current state of career counseling services in vocational schools, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of career counseling in influencing students' vocational choices, and (3) propose strategies to enhance career counseling services. A survey design was employed to collect data from students, career counselors, and vocational educators to gain insights into the effectiveness of current counseling practices. The sample size comprised 250 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include those with direct experience in career counseling and decision-making processes. The case study was conducted in Enugu State, Nigeria, a region with a growing focus on vocational education. Findings indicated that career counseling significantly influenced students' vocational decisions by providing critical information and personalized guidance. However, gaps in counselor training and resource availability were noted. Recommendations included enhancing training programs for career counselors, increasing investment in counseling resources, and integrating career counseling into the vocational curriculum to ensure students receive comprehensive support throughout their educational journey.
